(Peggy Noonan) In  a president, character is everything. You can hire clever, you can hire pragmatic, you can hire policy wonks. But you cannot buy courage and decency. You can't rent a strong moral sense. A presidengt must bring those things with him. He must have a vision of the future he wants to create... But a vision is worth little if a president does not have the character, the courage, and the heart to see it through

(James Robison) Think of all the talented people whose lives have been ruined by a lack of character- a foolish  lapse of judgment, a loss of self-control, an erosion of integrity, an inability to keep their lust at bay, an inability to tell the truth, the succumbing to pride, ambition, and greed

(Steven Berglas) People with extraordinary talent may achieve extraordinary success for a time. But success is often more dangerous for them than failure would have been . If they do not possess the bedrock character to withstand success, they  may be headed for disaster. Successful people run the risk of falling prey to one or more of the four A's: arrogance, adventure seeking, aloneness or adultery. Each consequence is a terrible price to pay for weak character, and each has the capacity  to undo whatever good the person may otherwise have accomplished

(Robison) Leaders ncannot separate their private lives from their public performance. What they are in the privacy of their own room will certainly effect what they are among the people. Ultimately their character flaws will be revealed- either through success or adversity
