( Spurgeon, comment made over a hundred years ago)   There are some in the apostate church who think the church can do no better than to come down to the world to learn her ways, follow her maxims, and acquire her culture

It has often and well been said that the  ground is level at the foot of the cross

( Wiersbe) As the finance committee prepares the church budget, the big question is not " What  can we afford to do? " but " What does the Lord command us to do?"

(Wiersbe) God's ability and our availability can do great things

( Wiersbe) God's people  need to remember that what we do is not for our praise, but for the glory of God

( Rogers) If we seek our own glory, nothing much will happen, and what does happen won't last

It has well been said that there are four kinds of people in churches: those that make things happen, those that watch things happen, those that criticize what's happening and those who don't know anything is happening
